Biography

Hi, I'm Matthias.

I'm a software developer and tech enthusiast. I like trying out new tech, figuring out how it works and occasionally getting a bit too deep into a rabbit hole. I've been self-employed since 2020, building software for companies and working on my own projects along the way.

That's work I enjoy: understanding how people do their jobs, finding the manual steps that get in their way and building something that helps. My background is in business mathematics and actuarial science, so working through data and calculations is familiar territory too.

At the moment, a lot of my curiosity goes into AI and coding agents. I use them in my daily development work and explore their limits in side projects, including a chess application and a tool for automating parts of my agent workflow. There are still plenty of rabbit holes left.

    Collecting operational data across different sites gets complicated quickly. Data comes from APIs, databases and files, while some values still need to be entered or corrected by people. Bringing it into one place is only part of the job: it also needs consistent calculations, planning and a clear process for approving changes.

    This project brought those tasks together in an internal platform used by around 100 people at 14 sites across four countries.
